Introduction

This Institutional Effectiveness (IE) handbook is intended to be a resource and guide for institutional personnel members responsible for documenting institutional effectiveness expectations and processes as well as to serve as supporting evidence of the institution’s “ongoing, comprehensive, and integrated research-based planning and evaluation processes that (a) focus on institutional quality and effectiveness and (b) incorporate a systematic review of institutional goals and outcomes consistent with its mission” as required in Standard and Core Requirement 7.1 of The Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement (SACSCOC, 2018).

Responsible Parties

All personnel, departments, offices, divisions, programs, etc. of the institution are responsible for IE as all job, departmental, divisional, and institutional duties are foundationally undergirded by the mission of the College.   Therefore, all constituencies are accountable for the extent to which the institution accomplishes that mission.  Operationally, the procedures associated with documenting IE are coordinated by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Research, and Planning (IERP) with professional leadership guided by the Vice President of that division.  Typically, a manager of a department, office, or organizational area is responsible for documenting IE within his/her area on an annual basis.  The level within the organizational structure at which annual or periodic reporting should occur is determined by the Vice President of IERP in coordination with the Vice President or Executive Director of each functional area.  For the current organizational chart, please the link for Institutional Organizational Chart below.
