Since February 2016, I have worked in the ePortfolio lab in OMNI 10 as a Peer Mentor, which is a position funded by the SIP Grant. Our job duties include helping College Success courses (a course designed for first time college freshman) set up their ePortfolios and learn the value of individualism. ePortfolios are designed to help students receive scholarships or land job interviews, because while resumes are just as important, an online portfolio can set someone apart as an individual. That is our main goal of our type of work, to show new college students that individualism stands out, while many high school graduates (myself having been one of them) were taught that we are just another name on a piece of paper.
